Join Coastal Kayak Charters for a small group guided kayak tour of the Shell Key Preserve. We are St Pete's top rated kayak tour company and focus exclusively on small groups and private tours. Our trips offer more personalized service and better wildlife viewing opportunities while out on the water. We will explore hidden mangrove tunnels (tides permitting), shallow seagrass meadows, and stop on Shell Island for time to swim, look for shells, or just relax and enjoy the beach. Our tours are designed for beginners and experienced kayakers alike. We use stable user friendly kayaks that provide a great paddling experience. We primarily use double kayaks unless you have an odd number in your group. If you prefer single kayaks they are available through our website. Come explore with local professionals who love what they do and see the difference for yourself.

More realistic info should be shared about the experience and endurance necessary for this excursion. Depending on conditions the paddling can be challenging. If you're not close to the guides you miss out on a lot of info.

Doug and Ross did it right. My wife and I had an afternoon of down time while we were in town for a conference. We didn't know anything about St. Pete Beach but we wanted to get out on the water so we reached out to Coastal Kayak. Our trip was a small group, only 8 guests with two guides (Doug and Ross). These guys did it right. They really know what they are doing. They keep their tours small intentionally which is to the guests benefit. We had a great time and will be back!

We thoroughly enjoyed this trip. Ross and Doug were great guides, and they were very patient and kind with my quirky pre-teen. The feel of the trip was very relaxing. Shell Key is beautiful, with lots of pretty shells, and my daughter loved finding the little crabs in the mangrove tunnels.
