My wife and I needed a break from our two kids so we decided to escape to Napa Valley. We had never been before so we decided to do a wine tour. I looked up the various tours and saw that Platypus tours was highly rated so we decided to go with them. Bob was our tour guide for the day and we definitely got our money’s worth. He was EXTREMELY knowledgable about wine, Napa, the vineyards, and geology (and ghosts). He took us on a tour to 4 local vineyards that had great wine (we bought 5 bottles). I highly recommend this tour if you want to drink great wine, learn a lot about the area and wine, and meet great people from all over!

Learned a lot and got to see different vineyards and wineries. Nice locations! Good company and the tour guide was very knowledgeable. I wish we got to see more of the production process or got a tour at one of the vineyards.

Thanks for your feedback, and I'm sorry we failed to get you more about the winemaking process or a better fleshed-out facility tour that day. Usually, our guides make sure both will happen. However, every day unfolds a little differently, depending on a lot of things, including the interests of the particular group on board that day. If ever we have another opportunity to tour you, I hope you'll let us know you're hoping for these experiences, and we'll make sure you get them.

My husband and I took the Platypus wine tour with our tour guide Bob. Bob was an amazing guide and made the day a fun event for everyone. We were picked up from our hotel. We visited 4 wine tasting venues on this tour. All unique and amazing tours. Our favorite was Rutherford Winery where our host Dean treated us to a variety of wine and chocolate pairings...just amazing. We had a picnic lunch outside of this venue which was delicious. Bob also served us bottled waters and cheese and crackers on the tour bus. On the drive back, Bob stopped at an amazing castle for us to take photos and he took group photos of us at the Welcome to Napa sign. We highly recommend this tour and want to thank Bob for an amazing experience.
