First visit to Napa. Tour picked up at a few hotels and locations, had a total of 5 couples. Andy was great. He was very informative, and made us all feel comfortable. He had plenty of water for all guests. Tour stopped at 3 small wineries and the Hess. Had a lunch following second tasting at that winery. Andy had boxes for shipping, and kept all bottles purchased organized with labels when you departed. Tours were all informative, with a history of the winery and education about the wines and area. Would definitely do again. FYI, tour cost does not include tasting cost per person at each winery which are $15-$30 pp depending on winery.

Thanks for posting, Jeffrey! Andy is another long-standing tour guide with us, and as you mentioned, he is just great at it, telling stories, providing anecdotes and history and wine making information, in a light and interesting way. All of the wineries we visit on this tour provide a $15 tasting fee for our guests (sometimes up to $20, if there is a wine cave tour or similar extra amenity). If you paid more, it was probably for an upgraded tasting of older vintages, or some other upgraded offering. Also, tasting fees are usually waived if you are buying wine.

Amazing!! Chris is the best guide, the wineries are off the beaten path and delicious wines, great lunch and very fun group!! It’s the best thing to do in Napa!! Enjoy!!

Michael our tour guide went above and beyond to help make my family’s wine tour through Napa and Sonoma valley beautifully unforgettable! Michael was our driver and tour guide on our two day wine country trip. He was super friendly, knowledgeable about all the wines we tasted and was very professional. He couldn’t have done a better job!! Platypus Tours were easy to work with and their tour curator, Doug, did an awesome job putting together our wine itinerary. Hello Frances and Jay; I'm really happy that you enjoyed the private wine tour we showed you. Doug is a full-time tour planner for us. The reason he's so good at it is that he was previously a tour guide for us, so he is really familiar with a whole lot of wineries (and because he listens when you tell him what you'd like your day to look like - that's so important!)
