We had a group of 5 couples and our tour guide - Mark - was excellent. I absolutely recommend this tour. We did a tour of Stirling on our own the day before and this tour blew that one away by miles. The smaller vineyards are the way to go.

Going in I thought this was going to be very touristy and the big wineries. It ended up being extremely unique wineries. Kelly our tour guide was fantastic. She was very attentive to us and kept us well hydrated and fed the whole time. I definitely would do this the next time I visit again.

We just returned from almost 7 hours on the road with our guide, Bob, and 8 other new "oenophile phriends." (We were a group of 4.) We visited 4 smaller wineries, learned lots of local history, had some interesing wine education, viewed lovely artwork, had a fun picnic lunch under a fabulous clear blue sky and ended singing along to "Sweet Caroline" and "Margaritaville" as we headed back along the Silverado Trail. The day zipped by, and we highly recommend Platypus. Although 12 might not feel like a small group, after riding together, making informal intros, enjoying cheese and crackers on board, and chatting throughout the day, we enjoyed each other's company as we tasted, strolled through vineyards, saw production, met owners and vintners, picked and tasted fresh grapes, shopped a bit and had a full, delightful day.
