Our guide, Ginger, had an exceptional knowledge of the historical events that took place in Jerome, as locals we are now fascinated to go back and learn more!
As for the walking part of the tour, make sure to wear comfy shoes and be prepared to walk down steep stairs. If you’re on the night tour, bring your flashlight or iPhone for light, they provide a bottle of water.
As for it being scary or creepy, we had a 12 year old on our tour and he was pretty scared! It is a bit creepy looking down into the dark tunnels and the concrete jails! This is not a Disneyland haunted tour, this is an actual town with real, authentic and untouched history! They do offer an a.m. frequency box to listen and detect “ghosts”, which was kind of cool, but also, for me, a bit noisy and distracting from the quiet personal experience.
Thank you to our guide Ginger for making it special, and please don’t forget to tip your guide!
