We (Mom, Dad & an 8 year old) went "California' Dreamin'" this morning and had the best time. Yes, getting up before sunrise was not fun on vacation, but the crew got us off to the launch site quickly & made it interesting along the way. Watching the balloon get filled & readied for us was fascinating (and we thought it would be boring!). The flight itself was amazing. It was incredibly gorgeous and smooth. Our pilot Dave was easy-going and clearly very skilled. We had great fun flying high (about 1000 feet) and low (just grazing the tops of some trees, but on purpose). The rest of the crew was very pleasant and volunteered to take pictures of everyone who flew with their cameras. (No charge like some other ballooning companies in this area.) The one-hour-ish flight was fabulous and a great length. Breakfast after (cheese, crackers, local breads, fresh fruit, mimosas, coffee/tea) at Vindemia Winery was yummy and in a perfect setting. We even got to try some of their wines, which was a wonderful bonus. (They make only reds & all the ones we tried were terrific.) A fabulous experience in every way. If ballooning is on your bucket list, you can go wrong with Dave & Gail and their crew.

The trip was certainly enjoyed. I am frustrated though that I was told on the phone we would be back to the pick up location around 5. We did not get back until 7pm and lost our dinner reservation. I'm not sure why we couldn't be shuttled back after landing instead of waiting over 30 minutes for the balloon to be put away. Either way for the amount spent on the flight I am dissatisfied that we were so late to the pick up location. I would have rated a 3/5, but company did not respond to my response.

I booked a balloon ride for my fiancé's birthday. The best gift ever! Of course it was kinda a gift to myself as well! Every part of the adventure was well thought out! The crew takes extra special care of its guests. Everyone with California Dreamin' is professional, personable, and extremely knowledgable. I would recommend this adventure with California Dreamin' to everyone!
