Mount St. Helens
Travel to Mt. St. Helens and environs with a naturalist guide who will discuss the geology, ecology, climate, history, and legends of the area, as well as the history of US public lands. Your guide will lead you on hikes near waterfalls, through lava tubes, and within oldgrowth forests. Stops both inside and outside of Mt. St. Helens National Volcanic Monument.
2
Ape Cave Lava Tubes
Traverse North America's longest continuous lava tube! No matter how hot it is outside, the temperature in the cave is a constant 42F (5.5C), so bring layers. Also, be sure to bring shoes that are suitable for scrambling, and wipe those shoes before entering the bats' home so that they don't get white-nose syndrome!
3
WIndy Ridge Viewpoint
Weather permitting, we'll take you to the closest viewpoint with a view into the crater that is accessible by vehicle. There you'll have a picnic lunch, and have the opportunity to burn off your lunch by ascending the 357 stairs to a 365-degree view overlooking Spirit Lake, with the mountain looming.

We had the best time. Our tour guide took us to places we would never have gone on our own. He was accommodating to our needs. He was knowledgeable about the entire Portland area, the wild life and plant species. We saw elk and banna slugs!I would recommend this tour to everyone

I would recommend this tour because this tour took us to places we would never have gone on our. Our tour guide was fanominal. He was knowledgeable about the entire Portland area, wildlife, and plant species. When the viability of the mountain was poor he made sure he took us to other places. We went into the lava tubes, walked through forrest, saw waterfalls, and we even saw elk! Overall this tour had everything in one tour!

Lori, thank you for the gracious review! Marcus said you and Phil were good sports about the lack of visibility, and adapted well to the compensatory itinerary. We hope you were able to see the volcano on the drive to Seattle the next day!

The Mt St Helens Adventure Tour was a fun and wonderful experience! I learned so much from our tour guide, Marcus. He was so energetic, knowledgeable and personable. Our group was picked up at downtown in a Mercedes Sprinter and it was very comfortable. Our first stop was at Johnston Ridge Observatory; then we walked the Trail of Two Forests; explored the Ape Cave; hiked Lava Canyon and learned about the old growth forest of Cedar Flats. It was an amazing, full day!
