Went to this museum while I was waiting for my husband's conference to finish-unfortunately, the conference was done much sooner than usual. That meant I only had a couple of hours to explore the museum. With all the hype, I have to say I expected more WW II airplanes, tanks, etc. However, the different halls covering the various fronts were well done. If I had had time, I'm sure the movies would have been very helpful, but I can watch those on YouTube, so decided to skip them to see more. Only hall that was a disappointment to me was the home front section. I expected more about how daily life was affected rather than how the country prepared for war. The disappointment is not to fault the display-it was very good, just different than I expected. If you want a good museum about the home front then the Wright Museum of WW II in New Hampshire is the place to go. All in all a very good museum, but I think it's just a little too hyped in the advertising which is why it got a 4.

This museum is really top-notch! The tech is great, very up-to-date, making and allowing the museum to be a very interactive experience. You get a "dog tag" that's a chipped card that you can register. Once you register your card, you are given a story of a real life person who was involved in WW2. As you go through the museum there are kiosks for you to tap your dog tag to and follow your person's story as they go from enlistment all the way through the war. The museum itself does a great job of telling the full story of WW2, each and every battle, the decisions made to each battle and the losses as well. The exhibits are really good and the (almost) 4-D movies is excellent! I highly recommend this museum! You will need at least a full day here, if not more. It is quite big and there is a lot to see and do.

I really was amazed with this museum. Initially I thought the purpose of the museum was to celebrate the victory of WWII. What I found was that it represented the loss of lives in the war, the unsung heroes and sacrifice that everyone made during those times. I left the museum feeling amazed and saddened for the people that endured the war , the soldiers, the families and the innocent. It's important that we have places like this so that people never forget the past so that we don't repeat the same mistakes in the future.
