We had a good experience here and were overall satisfied with the guides and safety features. We mainly came here for our daughter, age 9, who loves ziplines. A few things to know in advance: -You will be offered an optional tarzan swing. I was the only one in the group who declined, so I am in the minority who doesn't enjoy such things. I was glad it was optional, and didn't realize when I booked that it would be included in the excursion. -Another part of the tour is a rappel down a tree, after which you need to climb back up several stories on a rope ladder to the platform again. Again I was the only one in our group who declined this part. I was very glad to have the option to just remain on the platform and wait for the rest of the group to go back down and come back up, but woudl have liked to know about this part in advance to mentally prepare myself! We opted for this company because I'd read that the ziplines were not quite as fast or long as some of the other companies. I did enjoy the ziplines themselves for the most part, and felt safe on them, which was my main concern. Some of the platforms looked a little more cobbled together than I would have liked, but the staff was very focused on safety and that made up for my impressions of their platforms.

The Original Canopy Tour in Monteverde does a great job. The course is fun and the guides are nice. I had about 10 people in my group with about 4 guides. Never felt crowded or unsafe. One of the guides, David, even pointed out wildlife. I would definitely use this Company again.

Monteverde is not an easy destination! The road is crazy, especially in a small car full of people and suitcases - we bottomed out every 3M! But the Monteverde zone of Costa Rica is a special area and attracts many animal and bird people. Our first time with our Grandchildren in CR - they really enjoyed the overall experience. The zipline excursion was ok, but the braking system employed not the safest we've seen (have to use your hand on the cable with a well-worn leather-reinforced glove). The rappel-down and ascension back up through the hollow tree was cool! The tarzan swing was alright too, although I seriously doubted the strength of the hand-rail that the swing cable pulls you against before you swing! One of the ziplines ended at a platform with an aluminum step-up at the leading edge of the platform. Fortunately I saw this in time as my body was spun in such a way that my leg would have contacted this immovable metal frame with serious impact, I was able to swing my body away at the last moment and just grazed it. I mentioned this to the 'guide' and he ignored me (I speak Spanish). We preferred Parque San Luis' set up for the safety aspect.
