What a wonderful experience!! Its as authentic as it says. Phil showed us around downtown Lancaster. He has a good emphasis with details and I appreciate that very much. Also, we visited a covered bridge by the willow tree. Finally, we head to the Amish Farm for dessert. We were greeted by 2 baby cows at the Amish Creamery. Don't hesitate to pat the baby cows you might just feel the same connection as I did. Its like a backstage access, not the typical tourist stop . Let me warn you the ice cream was phenomenal, you will never be disappointed. To conclude this trip we decided to join Phil's next tour to visit and have a real Amish lunch.

I found this experience on line and it seemed different than others I've been on. We initially walked thru downtown Lancaster which was interesting. After, we drove thru Amish country. Stopped at a creamery for ice cream (included) and a farm where they sell homemade bird houses. Phil explained everything about the Amish, how and why they live like they do. It was really interesting and I enjoyed every minute. Highly recommend this as a must do visit to Lancaster county

Most people don’t know much about the Amish except they dress plainly and drive horse drawn carriages. Phil, the owner/operator of Truly Authentic Lancaster Experience, pulls back the curtain on this interesting group of people and relates from the standpoint of having been born into it. Phil tells you all about everything you might want to ask about the Amish from why Amish men wear beards to why the youth run away from their religion for awhile with elder approval. You’ll see how they are an integral part of downtown Lancaster history in a 45 minute walking tour. This is followed by a ride out to the Amish countryside to see beautiful farms, one room schoolhouses still used by students up to 8th grade until they graduate, and a creamery with delicious ice cream. Family life is shown simply and innocently with a look at carriages and farm animals as well as a boy who builds birdhouses to sell to tourists as part of the tour. A great experience. I suggest wearing comfortable shoes for the walking tour and to be certain you’re able to walk and stand for the 45 minute walk around downtown Lancaster.
