Wind your way through a red rock paradise, with tracks that hug the curves of the Verde River. Every season offers a different reason to ride! Astonishing views of a wild and vibrant frontier, historic trestles, bridges and a 7000-foot tunnel are just a few of the highlights tucked into unusual rock formations, red rock pinnacles and towering crimson cliffs. Majestic bald eagles and hawks float effortlessly on the breeze above Javelina, wild burros, jackrabbits and many other Canyon creatures, peacefully coexisting with this heritage railroad for more than 100 years.

At the depot, be sure to visit the John Bell Museum, home to the railroad's history and artifacts from its early days, as well as a wealth of information on Clarkdale, Jerome and the Yavapai-Apache Nation.

What we expected to be a couple of hours of scenery, it turned out to be almost a full day. We had breakfast outdoors, they had a selections of options to choose from. My husband and I both enjoyed eating out and viewing the different types of cars with different Cities of Arizona. When it was time to board, I was pleasantly surprised to see that we already had seating places. We found ourselves in comfortable like sofas and another couple across from us, and a table full of goodies for lunch. We each had a champagne and water bottles. As the train started moving, we were being entertained by music and our own guide, with information of the sights as we were passing by. Every few minutes we would gasp at the unusual colors of the mountains, and the beauty surrounding us. We found ourselves thanking God that we picked this tour, instead of going on a jeep tours, with the temperature of 98. Indoors train tour was definitely more comfortable. Tour guides and bartenders were very knowledgable and friendly. This was a great Experience!!!

A great way to beat the AZ heat for any age! Everything was great from the time we arrived to the time we ended the trip. From the check in process, to the food and bev provided, to the comfort on the train, to the staff, we had a fantastic time!

The reason I gave 4 instead of 5 stars is the poor quality of the breakfast burrito--worst we have ever had. The appetizers on the train were of much better quality. Consider keeping the quality up, even at the expense of quantity.
