I have ridden this train over the years. A great way to sit back and watch time and scenery go-by. Depending on the time of year you visit, there are always different things to see. Winter is wonderful and early spring when the streams are running are interesting. Sometimes you'll see animals, but either way, it's a nice train ride. Gift shop is very nice too. Staff are great and you'll have an enjoyable time. There is parking all around. Try to get there a bit early to get a good seat if you want to sit outside.

A really fun trip. I thought it was a little pricey though especially for families. The volume on the recorded narration should be turned up a little as there is always someone carrying on a loud conversation with someone else that none of the rest of us cares about. But don’t let that stop you from this most enjoyable trip up the Verde Valley!

Like most travellers we seek out a better bargain on our vacations. My wife and I recently rode the railroad and completely enjoyed ourselves. We were looking for a more "adult" atmosphere and got it in spades. Regular coach seats have you in a school bus style ride while first class allowed us to face each other, each by the window, in larger seats and a small table. Groups of four can sit together very comfortably. A champaigne send-off and a mid-ride mango smoothie were perfect compliments to the fruit, chicken wings and egg rolls - all complimentary. The inside host was kind and gracious and our outdoor host handled questions with ease. Every inch was clean and refreshing. Whether inside or in the open air car we completely enjoyed our trip. POSSIBLE TIP: We arrived early and boarded second. We chose a table in the middle of the car. Not near the bar on the front side or near the rear door by the restroom where guests walk out to the open car letting in hot summer air or colder winter air. We were comfortable the entire trip. And the pictures, well....just may have to take another ride.
