Snacks kinda spendy, relaxing, insightful. Great grandkids enjoyed the trip too ages 3 and 5. Would recommend this event. Raptors interesting at station. Nice gift shop expensive though.

Our family of four, consisting of three generations, experienced this activity yesterday, 4/18, and found it to be relaxing and enjoyable. We agree with the comments of many viewers who indicated that first class was probably the better choice. I would award the personnel 5 stars, as they work really hard to ensure that all have an enjoyable adventure. The gentleman giving the commentary was personable, well-informed, enthusiastic and interesting. The light lunch provided was of decent quality. I feel that there were areas that were either disappointing and/or could be improved. The website indicates that "all cars access open-air viewing cars...." Unfortunately, our car (Scottsdale) appeared to be the only car on the train which did NOT directly access an open car, All the others were directly attached at one end of the car to an open car. It may not sound like much, but if one is elderly and/or handicapped or both, it makes a difference if one is forced to walk through one's own car and then another on a moving train to access the open car. The boarding was also a bit chaotic, For example: When we picked up the tickets, we were told to go to the Scottsdale car, which was all the way to the front, only to have to walk back several cars to a common boarding point, which again is a problem if one has difficulty walking. Also, the train does not turn around when it reaches the destination, so a party's seating is always on the same side of the train. The parties of two are seated at tables on the scenic side of the train. The parties of four are seated on the less scenic side in comfortable sofas, but the sofas are lower than the level of the chairs at the tables, so we were unable to see the view. It would make more sense to arrange.the seating in reverse so that the parties of four with the lower seats can see the view, still allowing those in the higher chairs a view. Had we realized this in advance we would have booked 2 parties of two, instead of the one party of 4. Little things, but they make a difference,

What a relaxing four hour treat of sightseeing and learning about the history and geology of this area. Our volunteer guide was excellent. Terrific for all ages.
