It was well worth it. The food was great and the show was well put together loved Michael Jackson and Elvis. The fire baton fellow was spectacular.

This Buffett and show was excellent! The food and entertainment during the meal was great and the show was even better! I loved all the performers but I’m a Michael Jackson fan, and that part of the show was the highlight for me. I definitely recommend during your visit to Hawaii.

OK, first off… This is not your grandmother’s luau. This is not a traditional luau, at all. This is basically a Las Vegas style “Legends” show(it is actually produced by Legends in concert) with a Hawaiian theme. You’ve got your Elvis impersonator, you’ve got your Michael Jackson impersonator, there was also a local recording artist named Sienna who was very good. There are dancers and singers that perform in contemporary styles and costumes as well as traditional style Hawaiian costumes. The show is a review of the Hawaiian musical experience from the 30s to 2000s. The music was mostly pretty good and the performers were always extremely energetic. A few of the highlights, for us, were Sienna’s original song, the Michael Jackson impersonator and the fire dancer. Everything was very entertaining, but these stood out. I did it kind of backwards, but I wanted to get the show reviewed first. The dinner actually precedes the show. We opted for the VIP stageside experience, which is a four course meal served at a private table on the floor next to the stage. General seating is in arena style seating above the stage floor. As we did not do the buffet, I cannot attest to the food quality of the buffet. What they were setting up before they let us into the private dining area looked and smelled very good. I can, however, attest to the quality of the food and service in the VIP experience. It was excellent. As you are ushered into the VIP area, you have your picture taken and are offered your first mai tai. The picture is extra charge but we did wind up buying it, $25 well spent. The VIP package does come with two premium drinks: a mai tai, and then a choice of another drink. We opted for a second Mai Tai. I’m not normally big on fruity drinks, but they were very tasty. Thoroughly enjoyed them. When we got to the table we were greeted by our waitress, Laarni, who was absolutely awesome throughout the entire experience! The appetizer plate of Hawaiian potato chips, fresh fruit and nuts and meat and cheese skewers was very fresh and tasty. A great way to start the meal. The next course was a salad with a citrus style dressing with beets and goat cheese and a whole bunch of tasty stuff. Oh yeah… There was also lobster on the salad. Very, very tasty indeed. The entrée was “surf and turf”, which consisted of a steak and an Ono filet. Although the steak was medium well, it was very tender and just the right size. The fish was also very tasty. It was garnished with capers, and served over what appeared to be a lemon buerre blanc. The combination of flavors was very nice indeed. The meats were complemented with a black pepper truffle mashed potatoes which was very nice. The dessert was a pineapple gelato concoction with some macadamia nut stuff on it. I’m not trying to put down the dessert, but it just wasn’t to my taste as I am not a big dessert guy. My wife, however, enjoyed it very much. I kind of knew that no matter what the desert was, I probably wasn’t going to enjoy it. Just not my thing. All in all, this was an excellent experience, and we have already booked a return visit for our next trip to Honolulu at the end of April. Extremely well done. Kudos to all. I highly recommend this experience.
