A Safe and Tranquil Taste of the Wailua River

This three-hour guided tour is a wonderful paddling adventure for the whole family, idyllic paddling on the Wailua River Great panoramic scenery with the landscape and natural history genuinely and safely explained by your water borne guide.

The Wailua River became the center of activity for early Hawaiians and is known as one of Hawaii’s two most sacred places.

At night, it is said that one can still hear ancient drums thunder in concert with the nearby surf. This tour is perfect for those who want a “taste” of this wonderful river.

We really enjoyed our Kayaking adventures with Izzy. She did a great job, took great care of us and made this a memorable experience. The scenery is beautiful and a great addition to our Kauai vacation. We definitely recommend this activity and, if you are really lucky, you can spend your time with Izzy, as we did.

It was a beautiful, relaxing, informative trip. We were amazed at Tyler's knowledge of the plant life on the river and his overall knowledge of Kauai's history and culture. He is an excellent guide, very sociable and did everything to make sure our group had a wonderful experience .

Aloha, Learn as you yearn. For most the the mechanics of paddling is a low learning curve. Couple that with natural history….and everything will fall in place. Tyler is amazing not only in the field but in the back ground running our Wailua River program and making sure they run seamlessly. Tyler makes sure, that all of the guides plying the beauty of the Wailua River know more than he does when it comes to natural history and safety. Unfortunately the trip details were very unclear on their website. This tour has zero stops and you are confined to the kayak for up to three hours. We were not told this until the morning of so we were out several hundred dollars. Much better to just rent your own kayak so you can do your own thing.

Aloha Misty We try to give folks their money’s worth and sorry you felt you were cheated by us not taking enough breaks en route. On our 3 Wailua River Paddle our guides do an excellent job in interpreting and sharing tid bits of the fauna and flora that surround us, with rest breaks taken between the guides respective soliloquy. It is true that during those 3 hours we are confined to our kayaks, which in our 40 years of enterprise has never been a problem; in many cases clients who have been struck by the beauty and serenity of the Wailua River complex, on the contrary are reluctant to get out of their kayaks. If you scroll down to other reviews of the same you will find reviews with subject lines like: "A Wonderful Afternoon Paddle” "Awesome day with Kayak Kauai on the Wailua river”, etc. Thanks for taking the time to share.
