I was traveling to HHI for a week with my 3 year old daughter and my parents for my Mom's 70th birthday and knew I wanted to book a private boat tour for our family of 4. After much "homework" on TripAdvisor, Google, Yelp...all the places one gets travel info, I booked the 2 hour (10am) tour with Captain Dave through Hilton Head Boat Charters and I am SO glad I did. We could not have possibly had a better experience and it was the highlight of our trip and a memory I know we will all talk about for years to come. From the minute I booked I got lots of helpful information via text and email including photos of the boat and dock and specific directions. Tip: follow the directions you are sent...Waze will take you on a joyride down dirt roads in the nature preserve...but Captn Dave will not lead you astray! The boat was immaculately clean and Captain Dave was the literal perfect tour guide. He was kind and personable, patient with our million questions, happy to stop to let us see a bird/fish/whatever we wanted to get a more close up view of, and super knowledgeable about the area from wildlife to history to current must-sees and situations. And the dolphins.....my goodness I had NO idea we'd see so many! I'd set my expectations low because they are wild animals and you can't control the environment. But we saw so many! 4 different pods - the first of which we spotted after only being on the water about 20 minutes. It was incredible to watch them come up for air and swim around so close to the boat. Captain Dave and his business are top notch on literally every single front: Professional, informative, kind, easy to work with, great value and really really fun. We will definitely be back and have already recommended this tour to people we've met on the island!

What a fabulous cruise to celebrate my 70th birthday! We saw lots of dolphins (and even a bald eagle!) and learned so much about the history of the various islands that we cruised around. Captain Dave is so personable and knowledgeable, I came away feeling we’d been out with a good friend. I highly recommend this excursion!

Wonderful tour with Dave! We saw dolphins, frisky dolphins and bald eagles! He was very knowledgeable of area, shrimping and other activities. Safe driver and a history buff!!
