During our Alaskan cruise, we did the rainforest excursion during our stop in Ketchikan. Turned out to be the right choice. The hike through the woods is relatively easy, and you see some beautiful scenery. We were lucky enough to be there when the salmon were starting their run, and actually saw a lot of them swimming upstream, and jumping through the air at the waterfall. The totem pole park is interesting, but not as much so as the rainforest. But the best part of the tour was our guide, Natalie. She was awesome. She clearly loves her job and has passion for it, and was a wealth of information. She alone could make an average trip worthwhile.
