Curious about Portland's history with railroads, fires, wars, famous poets and Hollywood producers? Join us for a Walk Through Time! This tour begins on Commercial Street and continues for 2 hours through the historic Old Port, downtown and waterfront areas, sharing highlights of Portland's history since 1632.

Some of the locations we may feature on your tour include; the lobster statue, the home of Henry Wadsworth-Longfellow and his place of worship, the Eastern Cemetery, the Abyssinian Church, the U.S. Customs House and more.

***Tour duration is two "ish" hours, based on guest engagement and pace of the group. Planning on 2.5 hours for arriving early to check-in and make it back to your vehicle post tour is recommended.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed this tour and highly recommend Mike as a tour guide. Mike’s enthusiasm, knowledge and well scripted tour increased our knowledge of Portland, setting us up for a great week of restaurants, beer and historical sights. To top it off, Mike will likely offer free beer or cookies at the end of the tour where he’ll share his extensive knowledge of the local food and beer establishments.

Our roots are foodie and offering a local brew or confection seems to us like a pretty sweet finish to any tour! Happy to hear you had a great time with Mike. We really enjoyed our tour with Mike. He’s very knowledgeable about the history of the city and the buildings. He found all the shady spots to talk about what we were seeing. The pace was comfortable and his manner made it easy to talk to him and ask questions. I’d recommend this tour to anyone , whether it’s your first time here or even if you live here. You’ll learn a lot.

You can tell Mike really gets a lot of personal pleasure in sharing the history and sights of Portland. He started with us as a food tour guide and as his preferences lay with the history it was an easy choice to let him move forward with this passion project instead.
