Curious about Portland's history with railroads, fires, wars, famous poets and Hollywood producers? Join us for a Walk Through Time! This tour begins on Commercial Street and continues for 2 hours through the historic Old Port, downtown and waterfront areas, sharing highlights of Portland's history since 1632.

Some of the locations we may feature on your tour include; the lobster statue, the home of Henry Wadsworth-Longfellow and his place of worship, the Eastern Cemetery, the Abyssinian Church, the U.S. Customs House and more.

***Tour duration is two "ish" hours, based on guest engagement and pace of the group. Planning on 2.5 hours for arriving early to check-in and make it back to your vehicle post tour is recommended.

We booked at the last minute the previous night, so we were apprehensive but right from the start, everything was perfect. Parking in the city right next to the meeting point was easy as it was the memorial day holiday. James was right there in the spot to greet us and we started on time with 11 in the group. James exuberance added so much of warmth to the tour. He explained every piece of history in a interesting story telling style. The city is beautiful and we looked at it with new eyes as James narrated so much trivia and history for streets, buildings, restaurants, local haunts etc . Our first trip to Maine and we will come back for more. This walking tour is a must in Portland city and you will be lucky to have James tell you the stories

What a fabulous morning touring Portland and learning about this great New England city. Ross was full of fun facts and great stories and we learned so much about Portland’s rich history. Highly recommend! Thank you, Ross, for the great tour and the amazing chocolate chip cookies at the end of it!
