You will arrive are out Canon City location, check in with our friendly reservation staff, meet your guide for the day, be outfitted with necessary rafting gear, go through an in depth safety orientation and then hop on a van or bus for a short 5-10 min ride to the river put in

Royal Gorge Bridge and Park

Once you arrive at the river you will be given specific instructions by your guide and then hit the river for an amazing adventure. You will float through the world famous Royal Gorge! Amazing views of the America's tallest suspension bridge sitting 1,000 ft above the river and experience amazing whitewater on this trip. This is the premiere trip on the Arkansas River!

Weather was over 100 degrees and the water was over 2750 cfs and our river guide, Kyle, led us on a breathtaking, memorable trip of a lifetime. We were all impressed by his knowledge of the river's unique offerings that day. Bravo to ART and Kyle for a job done extremely well!

We did the overnight trip with Brown's Canyon on Saturday and Royal Gorge on Sunday and we had the best time. Kyle W was our guide and he was awesome -- he was super easy going and got along with all of the big personalities on our raft while also giving us easy to follow instructions. I will definitely request him when we return next year. I loved doing the overnight, the campsite is in Cotopaxi right along the river and its truly beautiful and peaceful. Arkansas River Tours has a shower onsite and you can rent tents, sleeping bags, etc. Kyle cooked us some delish steaks, potatoes, corn, brownies, etc. and then we had a nice campfire. In the morning we had breakfast tacos -- the food was much better than I was expecting. Upon arrival they outfit you with a helmet, life jacket, and wetsuit and/or water shoes if either are needed. I wore a wetsuit because I would rather be too warm than too cold and I highly recommend doing the same. Bring lots of sunscreen, sunglasses, and some water and you will have a blast!
