The 8:30am option departs from 488 Post Street. Look for a black Mercedes sprinter van parked across the street. It will start with Muir Woods and Sausalito then go to Alcatraz.

The 12:50pm option departs from Pier 33. It will start with Muir Woods and Sausalito then to Alcatraz at night.

Alcatraz Island

Board the ferry to Alcatraz at Pier 33 on the Embarcadero in San Francisco. Headsets are provided to listen to the award-winning audio tour, “Doing Time”, where you will learn about notorious criminals like Al Capone, who were incarcerated here. Learn about escape attempts from 'The Rock' and listen to commentary from former inmates and staff. This will be your drop-off point. No transportation is provided after Alcatraz because you will be able to stay as long as you want on the Island until the last ferry back to Pier 33.

This was by far one of the best group tours we've experienced.Our tour guide,Roman,made the trip worthwhile for sure.He has a great sense of humor and knowledge of area besides the boring tourist points of interest.Muir Woods was beautiful as always.We took Roman's suggestion for a place to eat in Sausalito,Fish and Chips,and the shrimp tacos,burgers and margaritas were fantastic.Ice cream was delicious as well.I went to Alcatraz for my husband and son's sake but enjoyed the views and ferry ride.I would absolutely recommend this tour.

Good tour with variety of experiences included. Our guide was informative, engaging and very helpful with onward plans. It may just be the going rate in SF but it did seem as though the trip was overpriced (compared to for example, a tour in Vegas) given no food or drink was included, Muir Woods is payable directly and there isn’t a specific location the tour is guided to in Sausalito. Alcatraz is also unguided. Overall a good one off experience with a knowledgeable guide. Well worth the visit.

You'll find our rates quite standard and competitive with other operators in San Francisco. The cost of tours here is probably more expensive than Las Vegas for a variety of reasons due to the higher cost of living here. On Alcatraz Island, we do offer an award-winning audio guide in multiple languages and you can spend as much time as you'd like on the island, exploring at your leisure.
