This was our first time on MVI. There were 10 people , 5 adults and 5 children (5, 6, 13, 14, and 16) so Deedee recommended the Clamming/Quahogging Tour. I was a little hesitant about the clamming part but took her advice and I am glad I did. All we needed to bring were water shoes, a change of clothes and towels. We booked a 5 hour personal tour and clamming/quahogging with her company. The guide/driver/professional clammer, Gregory, took us around the entire island (approx 3 hours) with 3 stops ( 15-20 min stops for photos, food/drinks, bathroom stops) pointing out every location, beaches, history, and more. Touring the island helped us mark out the places that we wanted to explore further. In addition, we are new to clamming. With Gregory as the professional clammer, he gave us a few tips and tricks. Deedee also joined us and showed us as well. She provided life jackets for the kids and their own nets for exploring; and tools and buckets for clamming. She assigned each of us with a role: clammer, "clam measurer", and bucket holders. We were able to keep the clams (as long as it met the size limit). This tour had a little of everything for each age group in our family. Gregory and Deedee were very personable. Everyone had a great time. I am so glad I took her advice! I recommend them to everyone who wants to explore the island especially to those who are new. You will not regret it!
