We got picked up on time from the designated hotel location by the tour operator. The drive to the lodge, after picking up other guests, took roughly 45 mins. The lodge itself is pretty barebones, has comfortable seating upstairs, but in order to use the facilities one has to come out of the upper level, walk down a flight of stairs on a gravel path outside, and walk in to lower level where there is a sole bathroom. We sat for a long time watching Iditarod videos, while the tour operator checked for signs of a visible aurora but it was too cloudy and we didn’t see anything. We left around 2 am and returned back to our hotels.
I think, and taking into consideration that this is Alaska, that the tour is very overpriced for what it offers. We just sat in the lodge waiting for a glimpse of the aurora, there were no explanations from the operator about how auroras happen, nor did they put on any videos. For much less amount of money, you can drive to a viewing point and see it yourself if you have a rental car.
I would not recommend the tour to others looking for value of money.

It is very unfortunate that you were not satisfied with our tour.
We had explained to you in advance that there were two waiting rooms and that you would have to walk to the restrooms on a different floor, and that you could wait in the room with the restrooms.
As for the video not playing, we have prepared a video on the history of Alaska (Iditarod), Alaska sightseeing videos (wildlife and nature), and the Northern Lights. The videos we play vary from time to time.
I hope you had at least a great overall trip to Alaska.
