We were lucky to have Sam as our guide and he had wonderful stories to tell about many structures, events, houses, etc. You need to sign a waiver before you’re allowed to operate the Segway. I assume that’s to protect the business from any fall or accident you might have. It seemed a little dire to ask but these days, this type of waiver is common for many activities. Sam gave us ample training and verified that we were listening and that we could safely operate the Segway. We’ve had experience before on Segways so the memory kicked in and our training was very short. It is a rather intuitive device once he explains it to you. The Segway allowed us to travel very long distances in a short time. We took the mid-day tour and that allows the guide to show you lots of downtown history, The Driskill hotel, the state capital and many other places. If you have specific destinations – just ask – he’ll try to fit it in if possible. This is a great way to see a bit of the city and learn lots of history.
