And by exceptional, I mean that I rarely join tour groups because they tend to be too "vanilla" for my taste. But, because I had heard so many positive comments about Daniel, the organizer for this event, I chose to make an exception and give it a try, and I am very glad that I did.
It was a remarkable day, in every sense of the word. In the days leading up to the event, the participants were kept informed on a regular basis, as to developments and while each aspect of the event was executed flawlessly, it never felt regimented.
Our group was transported in a very nicely appointed, 12 passenger white van (named Vanna White 😉).
The tour guide that Daniel arranged for us in Crystal River was among the best that I have encountered. After kayaking for several delight-filled hours, we proceeded to lunch at the crab plant where we enjoyed some of the best seafood that this former resident of the Florida Keys has ever been served.
The "cherry on top", both literally and figuratively was a quick stop at Twistee Treat for a bit of dessert.
Suffice it to say that this was one of the best day trips that I have experienced in recent memory, and that sentiment was shared by all who attended. I am keeping a close eye on future offerings, and fully intend to participate frequently.
Thank you, Daniel, for a truly remarkable day!
