For 2 adults and 4 kids (ranging in age from 10 to 13), this was a blast. We went on a 45 minute adventure just outside Destin Harbor with a speed boat and an inflated, floating 'double banana' with capacity for six, but our four kids, being older, were able to fill the spots fine. The captain took everyone out (adults watched) and the banana was lowered into the water, the kids (with life vests) got onto the banana and were treated to the ride of their lives - the speed boat pulled the banana and took turns, made wakes, circles, wavy paths, curves, abrupt stops and changes in speed, all intended to create a wild ride and a few spills. There were signals so the kids could indicate if they wanted the boat to go slower or speed up. They made sure the kids were having fun the entire time. This was definitely in the top of our family's week long vacation. Considering that the middle school aged crowd is sometimes hard to keep entertained, this was a a winner. We paid an extra $35.00 for pictures. The photographer took several hundred photos and put the best 125 or so on the website for us to download. They were definitely worth it - high speed photography, very clear, colorful and a lot of fun shots of the kids, a couple of shots of the adults. The one drawback for us was that it was a little difficult to schedule but that is because it is a small operation and the people who answer the phone to book appointments might be conducting a Banana Boat run. There was no actual booth or tent, only a small purple picnic table. Walk-ups do not seem possible. So, as hard as it is to plan appointments on vacation, that seems to be the best way to make this happen. The kids were ready to go back the next day!
