The fishing on the bay is great fishing, Sheepshead, Black Drum, Whiting, and many others, including Red Fish. Bay fishing trips primarily target tasty sand trout and whiting but customers will also have opportunities to catch red drum and black drum. Customers can also bring their own gear if they desire, but Captain Murphy’s will not be responsible for it.

All persons fishing, ages 17 and older are required to have a valid Texas Saltwater Fishing License. You can easily purchase a fishing license online by going to Texas Parks and Wildlife website and Fishing License

We went to check in to find out it was cancelled. They did not offer to reschedule, but told we would get full refund. It has been 3 days and have not received refund yet...

We had such high hopes for this excursion but it was an utter disappointment. We did not find out until after we had been on the boat for two hours, we were actually on a four hour excursion. We learned this from other guests on the boat, not staff. Fortunately we did not have any other plans. What was really disappointing was the lack for fishing. When you have 15 people on a boat and no one catches a thing in 10-15 minutes, the boat should be moved. That was not the case. In four hours, we moved 4 times and a total of 10 fish was caught by all aboard. We actually went back to our first location a second time. It made no sense. The staff was not helpful at all. One of the staff fished the entire time. We will definitely go with someone else next time!!

It had potential to be good. Not sure if it was the time of day or year we caught nothing only two out of 30 caught a fish. The crew was okay not overly friendly or eager. I would go back again because of the price. I would recommend saving up your money to take the deep sea fishing those came in with a haul!
