We toured the farmer’s market with Kate, sampling the offerings at three stalls and learning about the local foods sold by others. Everything was delicious, and I got to try ingredients that were new to me. We then went to a farm that teaches future farmers the agricultural and marketing skills they will need to succeed, and the need for and challenges of local farming. Our last two stops were at a locally-sourced Mexican restaurant with innovative dishes, and a local brewery where we sampled taro fries as well as beer. Delicious!
I wish I had taken this food tour earlier in our trip so I would have had more chances while still in Kauai to try fruits and vegetables I heard about from Kate. I would recommend this tour to any foodie!
