This tour was a bit disappointing for us experienced kayakers. Of the 3-hour combination tour of sunset and bioluminescence night kayaking, was altogether maybe a one mile paddle. We repeated at night the same exact route that we did during the sunset portion. In-between the two, we went ashore and waited for dark and for people who showed up late. Nowhere on teh website was it mentioned that we would be waiting for 45 minutes on shore in between the two tours. The mosquitoes were bad and we didn't know that we could bring snacks to make that wait time a bit more tolerable. My biggest complaint is that we didn't cover much distance at all and instead there was a lot of sitting around in the kayak without going anywhere, just hanging and watching instead of paddling. This trip may be good for beginners... The fun parts were petting a manatee during the sunset tour and seeing the full moon rise at night, and especially getting to see the bioluminescence sparkle with every stroke of the paddle. A suggestion is for the guides to go around the group and have people introduce themselves and say if they are beginners or experienced in kayaking. If all people are experienced, as was in our case, covering more distance and not spending so much time sitting around would be better. Another suggestion is for the website to be very clear when advertising this combination tour about the short distance being covered in the kayak, the long wait in-between the tours, as well as in letting people know that they can bring snacks with them, as there is 30-60 minutes lull between the two tours.

We do our best to be sure that our tours are easily manageable for all skill levels, including beginners and those that may not have the strength or stamina for extensive paddling. We thought it would be a great idea. It was my son and his wife and me. We had 2 people clear kayaks. My son and I were together. We didn't really think this though. He doesn't like being in water and neither do I, so we made sure we didn't completely tip the boat but we rocked a lot. The water was glass smooth, never thought about we could have waves. It stormed today so the lumenesis were not where the guide thought so we were a little disappointed, but she couldn't control that, BUT!! They were where they weren't suppose to be and we had the best time playing in the water and watching them. The guides had good stories of history and nature. We saw some blue herrings. The other guided group saw an alligator. If you want something cool to do, check it out!!

Max was our tour guide and he was not only knowledgeable but also extremely passionate about his job. My husband and I did the sunset and bioluminescence tour and enjoyed every second. We would also like to commend the employees that were off duty at the time, but spent part of their day off cleaning trash from the mangroves/water way left from “swamp creatures”. I surely do not love my job enough to come clean up on my day off. Whoever owns this company, I hope you know how valuable your employees are. I was not able to capture the bioluminescence on my camera but it was a beautiful sight. We want to come back in July/August (they said this was the best time to come see the bioluminescence)! Thank you Max!!
