Rob was our driver for the day and was EXCELLENT. He was friendly and quite knowledgeable about the area and points of interest along our journey for the day. This is our second Kentucky bourbon tour, and I must say that Rob made all the difference in making this one our favorite. We worked with Lee over the phone while planning our trip- he was very accommodating and made sure our proposed itinerary was feasible based on drive time and locations. We will definitely use Travel the Trail next time we come and HIGHLY recommend you do the same! -The Mizzou Crew!

I am a firm believer that it is the people that you meet along the way that makes for an incredible experience...this was the case regarding our recent tour of the bourbon trail with Travel the Trail. I am so grateful that I happened upon Travel the Trail when I was searching online for tours. Lee went above and beyond to personalize our tour. Being a native of Louisville, Lee was incredibly knowledgeable about the history and culture of not only the bourbon details, but also the rich history of Kentucky in general. I could not have asked for any part of our day to have been any better. I highly recommend Lee and his private tour company. It was wonderful to just sit back and relax and leave the details to Lee. We left the planning to him, everything paid, lunch and tour fees with no skimping : ) I feel like we not only had a wonderful time gaining knowledge of bourbon and seeing the beautiful countryside of Kentucky, but I also feel like we made a friend!!! We will definitely be back and when we do...Lee will be the first person we reserve!

Travel the Trail is a First Class Operation from beginning to end. I first contacted Lee Buckner at Travel the Trail in early August upon the recommendation of a friend of mine- his son had a bachelor party in Louisville and had done a couple places on the Trail and had experienced Travel the Trail. My wife and I and another couple had a trip to the Trail on our Bucket List. Lee was very thorough on his explanation of all the places we could experience and after hearing what we had hoped to get out of the trip, he recommended that we try the tour that would include tour and tastings at Bulleit and Wild Turkey and optional tour and/or tasting at Buffalo Trace. I booked the trip immediately. We did the Trail this past weekend. It certainly exceeded our expectations. Our driver Rob was very knowledgeable and gave us info on each distillery prior to our visits. Additionally, he appreciated our feedback if there was a tidbit here or there that he was not aware of. He picked us up on time and gave us a realistic expectation of when we would return to the Hotel. The day was beautiful and it was great not to have to worry about driving and opening and closing a map trying to get to unfamiliar territory,. We did have a professional camera with our group- pictures were allowed in most areas- your tour guides will let you know when photos are not appropriate. We walked a decent amount- tennis shoes or comfortable casual shoes were good. I wore shorts and a golf shirt, others in our party wore jeans. No one got uncomfortable. The 3 distillery tour did make for a long day that also included lunch- we were gone almost 9 hours. If that is a little too long for you- you might try another route where the distilleries are a little closer together. A bonus item that Lee recommended that we attended on Sunday was The St James Court Art Show- which is an outdoor show and is rated the #1 Art Show in the USA. We spent a little money there! If you are going to Louisville to do the Bourbon Trail- definitely call Lee at Travel the Trail. It will be one of the best trips you've ever had!
