My husband found an incredible tour company (reasonably priced, personable, knowledgeable and accommodating) called Travel the Trail. They set up a full day tour for us to visit bourbon distilleries along the “Kentucky Bourbon Trail.” The owner, Lee, could not have been more friendly and helpful. He even had a rare bourbon at his house that we couldn’t find anywhere, and he simply added it on to our bill—how awesome! Our tour guide/driver, Bob, was the best! After visiting two distilleries, he chose a delicious lunch spot where we ate outside in quaint Lawrenceburg. After lunch, we visited one more distillery, and then we essentially went on a treasure hunt looking for bourbons that we wanted to buy that are very difficult to find. He took us to a few different liquor stores off the beaten path, and we actually found what we were looking for (one store had the lone bottle of Blanton’s underneath the register)! Bob always opened and closed the van doors for us, had water and snacks available, and made sure the van was cooled off with air-conditioning each time we came back in. Our day with Travel the Trail was really fun, educational and well worth every penny. Bob was super friendly, informative and went out of his way to see that we had a great experience! Four star service!
