My son, 17, and I had a great visit to the Butterfly Rainforest. This is an exhibit at the Florida Museum of Natural History and requires an additional entrance fee. It is well worth it.
It was a cold morning when we visited, and the person at the ticket counter let us know that the butterflies would not be as active. It was true, but we still saw plenty of them hanging out on the various trees and other flora. There is a wide variety of species, and it was fun to spot them as we slowly made our way through the exhibit. It's a great little slice of rainforest. I have been there on warmer days, and it is definitely neat when they are all flying around you. There are also a couple varieties of birds that were flying and scurrying about.
Overall, it was a very fun experience, and I highly recommend it. They were enforcing mask wearing and social distancing.
