As a native to South Carolina, I have been to Charleston numerous times and have wanted to go on a ghost tour for years, knowing how haunted the city is. I was especially excited to go on this tour on Halloween night, when there was a full moon! My excitement soon turned to disappointment. Our guide was very long-winded, often losing the attention of his audience, and was very difficult to hear. I expected to be quite scared, going through graveyards at night during a full moon; needless to say I have been more scared on other tours by other companies in broad daylight. In addition, given that we are still going through a pandemic, there were entirely too many people on the tour. When this was mentioned during the tour, the guide simply said “it is Halloween!” I guess pandemics don’t matter on Halloween! I was very disappointed in this tour, and would not recommend it. Thank goodness for the internet so I can research Charleston ghosts myself and learn more on my own!

hopew952, We are very sorry to hear that the tour did not meet expectations for the atmosphere of a wonderful Halloween night. We never like to hear when our ghost tours are not scary. We take all feedback seriously and this will be used to help your guide in that regard. The City of Charleston does allow tour groups up to 20 participants. Here at Bulldog, we are always concerned first and foremost with the safety of our guests. Being that the majority of our tours are conducted outside, we promote social distancing and all guests and guides are required to wear masks during these tours. As you can research, even with 20 people, this is compliant with CDC and DHEC regulations. Thanks again for the feedback and we hope you enjoyed the rest of your time in Charleston.

Full moon on Oct. 31. Why not tour a haunted graveyard?!? Darien was fantastic, so energetic and fun. My girls (ages 15 and 11) said they were not too scared and would go again!

My wife and I really enjoyed the tour. Taylor was a great guide. She told a lot of stories and provided a lot of historical perspective to the event.
