My husband and I took the 90 minute Death and Depravity Tour on a Thursday night and had a tour guide named Catie. Below are a few notes about our experience.
Pros:
• Catie was kind and collaborative, she even shared a personal story of her ghost encounters
• Catie was detailed in the stories she told, really painting a picture of the scene for each death
• Tour hit both common stories - Ex. Photo of Sue Howard Hardy at St. Phillip’s graveyard - as well as less known stories
• 90 minutes was perfect, especially for the end of the day
• Tour went through multiple graveyards and eerie locations
Cons:
• Title of tour was a little misleading, we expected more stories of depravity and tales relating to the rich slave population that existed
• Catie kept mostly to a script and lacked the random side stories and banter that often comes from tour guides
• More pictures and aids would have been helpful, especially when photos of sightings are talked about
• While less people tend to be out at 10pm, we found it to be an awkward time when planning other activities for the day. We’d recommend starting even at 9pm to make it appealing to more people.
• Besides mention of a brothel, this was fairly PG for an adults- only tour
Overall we’d recommend this tour to those looking to get a semi- eerie tour but recommend the company to make a few changes to make the experience better.
