A rare opportunity to see the ancient bond between man and bird. In a small group, you will interact with a variety of hawks, falcons and owls, learn their natural history and their differences, and see an unforgettable flying demonstration. The Beginners Experience culminates with a chance for you
to put on a glove and hold a trained falcon.

There is a licensed falconer who oversees and presents each experience. The birds engage only by their own will.

Mel and I had an absolutely incredible time at the falconry class with Broadmoor Outfitters. Our guide, Roger Tucker, was phenomenal—his 40+ years of experience and passion for falconry were evident in every detail he shared. We learned about the 4,000-year history of falconry, got up close with hawks, falcons, and even a few owls, and had the amazing opportunity to hold a falcon named Goose! Taking Goose for a walk, watching him fly between trees, and seeing him hunt a fake raccoon on an automated speed rope was unforgettable. Roger’s enthusiasm made the entire experience even more special. If you’re even remotely interested in birds of prey, this is an absolute must-do. Highly recommend!

My boyfriend booked this experience as part of a surprise weekend getaway. I honestly thought he was joking when he mentioned a falconry class. I must be the last person on earth who doesn’t know what falconry is because once I told my friends they were all so jealous. We took the beginners class and Roger MADE that class. That guy has so much passion for birds that I had a huge smile on my face the entire time. I loved all the history of falconry he went over as well as how up close we got to be with the birds. I was so surprised with how much i enjoyed this experience and I definitely would go back for an additional class.

Deanna was incredible. I’ve never met a Master Falconer before and I was very impressed. From the pickup at the outfitters Broadmoor location to my return to the hotel, I was in awe ! Beautiful birds and knowledgeable staff. I was fortunate to be the only student yesterday and took full advantage of it . I asked as many questions as an elementary school class. Deanna didn’t mind a bit. Watching the birds of prey stationary and in flight was a true dream come true. This is a MUST for any outdoor enthusiast. Thank you Deanna for a true adventure… I’ll see you next year for my next class !!
