Captain Gavin and JJ were our guides and boy were they great at what they do. We went before the manatees actually came in for the winter, but were still able to see lots of them. After a quick video and getting into a wet suit, it was a short van ride to the dock. Boat was nice and clean. Short ride to a spot with maybe about ten manatees. The water clarity wasn't too good here, bit you could still make them out. Captain Gavin and JJ were great at spotting where the manatees were. After a great time spent here we moved onto another section. As we were going, they spotted a momma and baby manatees. This time the water was clear. Time for an unscheduled stop. We were able to see the baby nursing. The baby was pretty curious and interacted with our group for awhile. I got my leg hugged and he nibbled on my hair. Experience of a lifetime. Another stop at Jurassic Springs where I saw lots of fish, a stingray, and was able to see more manatees. Just wow! I liked how JJ was very protective of the little boys in our group. He made sure they were able to see lots and watched over them. He watched out for the animals and the waterways too. Overall this was just an incredible experience.
