My husband and I were first-timers to San Fran when we visited the wk of Feb 15, 2015. After much research and other great reviews, booked 2-3 hrs with Reed. He could be flexible with his schedule that day and I had no idea how long it would take to see the things I thought were the 'must sees' for us first timers. Three hours flew by! This charismatic gentleman is a walking encyclopedia on the history of not only SF but early California too. A true, well-read, historian. He was booked on Monday so we took that day to visit Muir Woods and Sausulito on one of the big tour buses. Although not a bad experience, we would go with Reed any day of the week. Yes, more costly, but SO much more 'value' if you will. An authentic guide that knows his stuff offering such a unique way to see the city. It was the only day we never saw sunshine but we didn't care, still fun cruising in Reed's Cooper, taking in all the different neighborhoods. Reed safely & efficiently maneuvered the streets while sharing his vast knowledge. He has plenty of blankets so took advantage to snuggle with my hubby while hubby took tons of pics. Reed more than accommodating to slow down or stop and take your pic. It is a tour CUSTOMED to fit what you want. He picked us up on time, in front of our hotel, dropped us off at the Academy of Sciences at our request. Gave us great advice on the public transportation system (that was challenging for us newbies) to get back across town. We also appreciated the restaurant recommendations in his email correspondence prior to our trip. As one other reviewer said, 'highlight of our trip'. When we return, will be looking up 'Small Car Big Time Tours' for sure. PS-sunscreen and hat. It's a convertible. I had sunscreen, no hat. Got a little wind burned on the chilly day but no problem. But ladies, the hair situation for semi decent pics, I didn't think of:)
