First, the good - our driver/guide Ray was very knowledgeable about the history of the area, and the wildlife. The tour was in a 13 passenger van and was very comfortable. We saw Totem Poles, and he explained the history behind the designs, but this does not stop at Saxman Village.
The not so good - the title is somewhat misleading - there was no opportunity to customize this tour, as you are actually booking with a large Ketchikan wildlife tour company (they also own Dolly’s on Creek Street). This is a set tour. We found out we could have paid less by booking with that company directly on Viator, or pre booking, or even walking to the booth on the pier.
We saw 2 bald eagles, though we did stop at an overlook to see if we could see whales (none) and later at Herring Cove to see bears (none). Not their fault the animals weren’t there to see, it was just the wrong time of years.
