This 4.5 hour Daufuskie Island trip provides a glimpse into a fascinating chapter of Lowcountry history on the undeveloped side of the island. Learn the rich history of the Native Americans, European settlers, the cotton trade, and the Gullah culture. We encourage you to wear weather-appropriate clothing and bring water, snacks, and sunscreen.

The entire trip was a fascinating journey through Daufuskie Island’s history as well as the history of the region. Our Captain/Guide was Captain Pete Barbano was a highlight of the tour. He was knowledgeable, pleasant and professional. We would do this trip again.

We had a delightful boat ride to Daufuskie with Pete Barbano, who gave a very interesting and educational tour of the historical places on the island. We also had opportunity to shop at two artisan shops. I highly recommend this tour.

This is a wonderful tour. Our guide, Captain Pete, was very knowledgeable and friendly. The boat trip to Daufuskie was exhilarating with lots of information about the area and the importance of oysters. There was so much to learn about the island and it’s people— from the early plantations to today. Well worth the money and time. Remember to bring a hat for the boat ride!
