Departing from Denver, my adult daughter and I had a great time on this tour. Our tour guide Steven was very informative and helpful. A lunch of a delicious turkey sandwhich, chips and bottled water was provided at a picnic/rest stop area in the mountains. We saw elk several times on the trip, our first ever magpie and two beautiful blue Steller's jay birds. We stopped at several points of interest and were given plenty of time to take in the beautiful amazing views and take photos. We reached a height of over 10,000 feet before the road was closed, but at a parking location where others were also out of their cars enjoying the majestic scenery. There were plenty of restroom breaks. We stopped in Lyons at the beginning where one could buy snacks at a small grocery store or nearby coffee shop, and another stop near the end at a lg tasteful souvenier shop and park information center. Then once again the quaint town of Lyons on the return trip. I would suggest layers/ appropriate jacket for the season. Leaving in mid Oct in the 60s to picnicing with a touch of snow on the grass in the mountains...it was still very enjoyable, but the fall jacket came in handy. Our tour guide Steven was always courteous. We even had time to make a stop at the famous Stanley Hotel. It was a great, unforgettable experience. : )
