Let me start by saying that it hurts me to write this. We have been a Disney family for years. In the last five years we have visited Disneyland/DCA 41 total park days, Disney World 17 park days, taken two Disney Cruises and visited Aulani. This trip to Disneyland/DCA has been extremely disappointing and we will be spending our vacation elsewhere next year. It’s just no longer worth it, they are charging more and you get much much less than ever before.
Disney’s greed and desire to monetize fast pass via Genieplus (paid fast pass with less options and flexibility) has significantly deteriorated guest experience. Wait times were excruciating and unlike any prior visit we had we’ve had ever, regardless of what time of day we were there it was super busy. We visited rope drop to close over 5 days and every day was painful all day due to waits. As a Disney veteran, I can say it’s unlike ever before and was not enjoyable. Rides were constantly down and line estimates were way off. For example, we experienced several cases where the posted wait was 40 for a ride, we set a timer when getting in line and clocked 2 hours before getting to the front, only for it to break down and the cast member to say in a condescending tone “ohhhh, that’s unfortunate”. Yes, yes it is unfortunate…
