• You can ONLY bring carry-on-size bags and backpacks
• There are no rooms to check coats, packages, baggage or suitcases, so please don't bring them to the Observatory

Visiting the Empire State Building was an experience that truly encapsulates the spirit of New York City. From the moment I stepped into the grand lobby, I was transported into a world of historical significance and architectural wonder. The 86th Floor Observatory offered breathtaking 360-degree views of the city that never sleeps. The panorama stretched out in all directions, providing a view that is as limitless as the city itself. The 102nd Floor Observatory, with its floor-to-ceiling windows, presented an even more spectacular vantage point1. The newly added 2nd-floor museum enriched the visit with interactive exhibits that narrate the building’s storied past, from its construction during the Great Depression to its iconic status in pop culture2. It was fascinating to learn about the building’s history and the engineering marvels that went into its construction. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable, adding to the overall positive experience. Their insights and assistance made navigating the building and learning about its features a breeze. Whether it’s day or night, the Empire State Building is a must-visit. It’s not just an attraction; it’s a symbol of ambition and achievement. I left feeling inspired and with a deeper appreciation for this architectural masterpiece that stands tall as a beacon of hope and progress.

Be wary of booking tickets online for The Empire State Building. Whilst you would imagine booking online on the official website would be safe and hassle free this was not my experience. My credit card was double charged and the hoops I am still having to jump through to be refunded are ridiculous. After completing an online form that had “Double Charges” as a drop-down option, suggesting it may not be a rare occurrence, I sent them all the details they would require to speedily deal with the situation. Days later I receive a reply asking for the same information that I had already submitted. After sending the information again, no reply. Another email to chase up the matter, no reply. On the day of my visit I spoke to someone in charge at the building by the name of Angelo who confirmed I had been waiting far too long for the refund. He asked me to submit the claim form again and to quote his name so that he could get involved. 3 days later a terse reply telling me “this process can take sometime.” I replied asking why it would take over 2 weeks to process a simple refund and why Angelo himself had confirmed it was taking too long if that was the case, also requesting a timescale of when the situation would be resolved. Days later, no reply. I am being left with no option but to contact my credit card company to initiate an investigation and the entire situation has completely ruined what is advertised as a once in a lifetime experience. At least the view was good I guess, but I’d advise buying tickets in person so any issue can be resolved immediately.

The favourite of our recent trip to New York. Easy entry with the security check passing smoothly. Pleasant and helpful staff on every floor. If you go make sure you go right to the top. On a sunny, cold day the views were amazing.
