Explore San Diego Tide Pools with a Marine Biologist

Adventure with a marine biology educator along the coast and learn more about wildlife living in the intertidal zone of San Diego. Great for all ages and skill levels. There are some stairs and lots of uneven terrain we will walk on, so this is not a wheelchair-friendly activity.

I taught middle and high school marine biology for more than a decade before committing to environmental tourism! With fifteen years of teaching youth and adults in outdoor education settings, plus my background in conservation biology, provides guests with in-depth (pun intended) knowledge of marine life during our tide pool exploration.

Groups are kept small (10 people maximum, with exceptions for private groups/families) which makes this a more intimate and personal experience.

Matt was such and excellent guide. Money and time well spent. Tour was very educational and informative. Explained the role and importance of the tide pools. Found several specimens that we would have otherwise missed including sea slugs and a black sea hare. Just book it, you will not be disappointed!

I love tide pools, and Matt was an awesome and knowledgeable guide. Seeing a black sea hare was worth the price of admission alone. Never would have picked it out of the dark shadows of a tide pool on our own.

We had the best time exploring tide pools with Matt! It was our first foray into tide pooling, and Matt did a great job of teaching us about tide pools while also letting us explore. I always appreciate when I can tell someone loves what they do, and I can tell Matt does! We really appreciated the photos too :)
