HEADS UP: You have to call the Robie House office to schedule a tour time! Buying the Viator ticket is only the cost of admission and doesn't guarantee a tour when you show up. I was visiting Chicago just for the day and almost missed my tour because they didn't have me on the books. Luckily they made it work and we had a great visit.

It was a really informative and insightful. Daryl was our guide and she was very knowledgeable and passionate about Frank Lloyd Wright. I had never been to a Frank Lloyd Wright house so I was very impressed by design and intention of all the elements of the house. The location is amazing. It is right on the corner of University of Chicago. If you have time take a stroll around campus. It is gorgeous if you like beautiful ivy covered majestic buildings.

Seeing the house in person and hearing it’s history. The details of the recreated light accents. The way the sunlight came into the room in the winter months to give warmth but was shaded in summer to keep the house cool just by positioning the home to accommodate the suns position in the sky
