There are lots of ways to tour the French Quarter. We bet on the Friends of the Cabildo tour because we wanted a fun, accurate story of the area. Our guide was fairly new and she was also impressively knowledgeable and articulate. It was a good mix of information about the history of Louisiana, the French Quarter itself, and some of the colorful personalities that have shaped New Orleans. The walking was not very taxing--there were some elderly member of our group who were keeping up more or less fine. And afterward we got to see the 1850 House, which provided a nice insight into life in 19th century New Orleans. Overall, I'd recommend this to anyone looking for a tour of the area.
