This French Quarter walking tour is conducted by city licensed guides and emphasize the history, architecture, and folklore of this fascinating city. Tour and store proceeds benefit Friends of the Cabildo, a non-profit volunteer group to provide support for the Louisiana State Museum. Purchasing a walking tour ticket also gets you admission to the 1850 House Museum, above the store, that shows what life was like in a typical Pontalba Apartment in the 1850s. Restroom is provided for walking tour guests as well.

Tours go out rain or shine.

We went on a very informative tour of New Orleans with the Friends of the Cabildo. Our guide was very knowledgeable and told us lots of things we would not have discovered on our own. It was also very pleasant to walk around the French Quarter and stray into areas we hadn't had courage to visit on our own. I would recommend this for one of the first days of a visit - to orientate and find out more about the area. It is quite long though - a good 3 hours! - which although generous, is probably a bit too much and I needed my coffee and beignets by the end.

Thank you for the great review, although our tours are 2 hours long, you may have gotten something a little extra. Thanks for supporting the Louisiana State Museum

A tour guide can really make a difference and the one we had for our Walking Tour of the French Quarter (I believe here name is Marianne) was fantastic. Her style was perfect for this interesting tour. She was full of life and color as she opened up the history of this great city. We had taken the tour 3 years ago but returned with more of my family and did the same tour again. We enjoyed it as much the second time as each tour guide adds their own special color to it.

We decided to do the walking tour at the last minute and were so glad we did! Our tour guide, Mark, was able to provide in-depth history, quirky stories and history about the area, the architecture of both individual buildings the area - do you know the the three different types of "balconies" in NOLA? This tour will tell you. For a great overview of NOLA, the French Quarter, the architecture and the history, this tour will provide it all in two hours.
