Explore the natural wonders of Molokini Crater, a volcanic islet 3 miles (4.8 km) off the coast of Maui, on this snorkeling tour from Maalaea. Surrounded by clear tropical waters, this extinct cone is home to many species of marine life, such as fish, sea urchins, sharks, manta rays, and coral. Molokini is a marine preserve, meaning nothing can be disturbed, keeping the island and underwater environment pristine. You'll also explore Turtle Town, and admire native birds. Two water slides, a glass bottom viewing room, and a "leap of faith" are also available if you don't want to snorkel or finish early. Breakfast, lunch, snacks, soda, and juice are included.

The boat was amazing we sat on the top deck and had amazing views. We weren't able to go to Turtle Town because the water wasn't clear. The crater was fun. Water was rough but clear. It was a little crowded because the boat had so many people on it. But they had life guards in the water with us and lots of flotation devices available. I don't recommend the top deck on the way back very WINDY!! But nice tour, good food, staff was friendly.

Well maintained boat with good breakfast and lunch. However, the experience in the water was a disappointment. Prepare to be policed by staff that force you to remain in a very small swim space crowded together with all of the guests (literally people kicking you in the water your so close). I know some spots are dangerous but we were so confined. The crater is spectacular, but the Calypso cruise offers a very limited glimpse. Perfect for small children I suppose, but if you’re looking for an adventure, look elsewhere. We saw a few turtles but they dropped so many of us on top of them they hid at the bottom.

Safety is our top priority aboard Calypso, so the snorkeling is supervised in order to ensure passenger safety. This trip was perfect for our family just as we had hoped. The older kids had the best experience with snorkeling, and our youngest of 5 loved using one of the body boards with a view window. All of the crew and captain were professional and made sure everyone was having a great experience. We will definitely book this trip again on our next trip to Maui.
