My son, two daughters and I had a very enjoyable but tiring 9 hours, soaking in loads of information and enjoying the sights of New York with only 4 other people. We were lucky that it was dry, but it was extremely cold, so be prepared, and wear comfortable shoes and layers of clothes.
Tom, our guide, was very personable and friendly. He had so much information about the city at his fingertips, and his knowledge and enthusiasm really made the trip worthwhile.
If you are visiting NY for the first time, I would recommend this tour, as you will learn things you could not possibly learn if you are wandering aimlessly around the city on your own. You will see familiar buildings, but you will not appreciate their context in history.
You will also be guided into areas you might not be aware of and of course tips about good places to eat in a big city are always welcome.
I cannot fault our guide. He definitely delivered his end of the bargain, and was worth every penny. However, I debated for some time prior to booking this tour whether it was worth it, and if you are paying for a whole family, as I was, it is an expensive day maybe Viator should consider a reduced price for a family If I was only paying for myself, it is good value for money, especially if this is likely to be your only visit to a city, and I would say, go for it!
A big Thank you to Tom. It can't be an easy job.
This was a fun and interesting view. Our tour guide was fantastic and showed some of her favorite things along with the tour, which made it worth it. My only problem is that if there is someone in the group who is slower, it does take some time off of the tour. Otherwise I really did enjoy the tour and the tour guide did work with the one individual who was older than the rest of the group and a little slower.
The 9-hour tour with our guide Tom was a brilliant introduction to New York. To fit so much in one day was amazing, couldn't have seen so much without the help of Tom. Very informative and enjoyable day and a great way to see the City. Thanks Tom
