This did save us some money but was a pain in the neck having to go to one place to get the tickets before going to the attraction you wanted to go to . Also it would be helpful if you could access the information book before you got to new york as there is alot of information in it. Not sure if i would buy the pass again
In terms of saving money this was great! However getting access to some of the tours was rather cumbersome - for the Brooklyn Bridge and Dumbo tour I had to go on a third party website and fill in all my details, before picking a day and time to book the tour - I had to do all of this on my mobile phone as I didn't have access to a computer - booking the time and date, I totally understand but that should have been through one link on your site, and not requiring to fill in so many details. Secondly, for the Statue of Liberty, having to pick up the tickets from one of the offices was a real bore. We wanted to leave really early on that day and had to waste 45mns to pick these up - the whole point of having a pass should be to be able to show this at ANY of the tours and attractions in the same way as we did when we went to the Empire State Building. I could see a lot of people not realising this before going to a tour and getting disappointed or ending up paying extra just because they are there. Probably worth looking into.
I DO NOT recommend this company at all. I called the company a week prior to arriving in New York to confirm the list of items that the Explorer Pass included. I specifically asked the customer service woman what sight seeing bus company was being used. She said it was the red bus with the Statue of Liberty on it. That was the one I wanted because it has closed buses on the top for cold weather. (New York was freezing) I also asked if included all the different hop on hop,off selections...ex...uptown, downtown, night tour ect. She said yes. So I booked it. We followed the instructions to get our Explorer Pass at one of the locations listed. We went to the Planet Hollywood location because it was supposed to open at 8:30. We got there at 8:35 and there were 2 groups ahead of us. The people behind the counter took there time to open and we stood there until after 9 am until they finally took us. The girl proceeded to tell us that not the red bus but the blue bus company that does not have the roof enclosed but that we only get to choose one area it goes to. If we want more than one we had to pay an additional 15 a person x 4 . She was rude and looked like she was recovering from a hang over. Don't use them... You will feel ripped off.
