The canvas-covered log framed structure where we pan for gold is located just across from our walking bridge, between our office and the gift shop. Depending on the salmon run, we can often spy salmon in the creek. The covered troughs allow us to stay dry while panning, which makes this the perfect activity, rain or shine!

Enjoyed panning for gold but could have been more gold in paydirt. Very small specs of gold. Your host was very helpful.

Fantastic history of Seward and the point of the event was teaching us the correct technique for gold panning. Very well done. You are not digging up huge amounts of black sand expecting a ounce of gold. It is showing you how it is done. I am 70 years old and loved ot
